The State Bank of Pakistan has once again shared a video released five years ago, showing users how to identify a genuine Rs 5,000 note.
The video released by the State Bank of Pakistan shows signs in the Rs 5,000 note through which citizens can distinguish between real and fake notes.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the Rs 5,000 note has been printed on specific paper. It has a unique feeling when touched by hand.
According to the video released, the real 5000 note can be identified with the help of 7 symbols.
These include the watermark of Quaid-e-Azam, cross-looking numerals, invisible numerals, embossed print, changing colour of the national flag, protective thread, embossed mark for the visually impaired so that they can estimate the value of the currency note.
The issue of fake Rs 5,000 notes had come up at a recent meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance.
At the meeting, committee member Kamil Ali Agha showed the fake notes of Rs 5,000 denomination to the deputy governor of the State Bank, but he could not identify them and said that the quality of the fake notes was good.
Demanding action from the State Bank to curb fake notes, Salim Mandviwala said the issue of fake notes has been going on for many years and the central bank has no solution, fake notes are
coming from banks.
